HOW DOES A CENTRIFUGAL FAN WORK?

A centrifugal fan, also known as a radial fan, is a type of device designed for air circulation. Its operation is based on the principle of centrifugal force generated by the rotation of the impeller.

  1. Air Intake: The centrifugal fan has an impeller consisting of blades or blade-like wheels that rotate around an axis. As the impeller spins, air is drawn into the fan through the intake duct.

  2. Centrifugal Forces Interaction: When air enters the fan, it is subjected to centrifugal forces. These forces cause the air to spread outward, increasing its rotational speed.

  3. Air Discharge: The air that has been acted upon by the centrifugal forces is expelled through the fan casing in the form of a stream. This air stream can be directed in a specific direction using guides or ventilation grilles.

Centrifugal fans are often used in ventilation systems, air conditioning, and various industrial and commercial applications where effective air circulation is necessary.
